PumpMan Socal is Southern California’s leading circulation pump system repair provider. Circulation Pumps are a specific type of pump used to circulate gases, liquids, or slurries in a closed circuit. Circulation Pumps, often referred to as circulating pumps, are generally a pump with in-line suction and discharge flanges. We offer emergency pump circulation pump repair and replacement for the enitre system. They are commonly found circulating water in a hydronic heating or cooling system. Because they only circulate liquid within a closed circuit, they only need to overcome the friction of a piping system (as opposed to lifting a fluid from a point of lower potential energy to a point of higher potential energy). Circulation Pumps as used in hydronic systems are usually electrically powered centrifugal pumps.

As used in homes, Circulating Pumps are often small, sealed, and rated at a fraction of a horsepower, but in commercial applications they range in size up to many horsepower and the electric motor is usually separated from the pump body by some form of mechanical coupling. The sealed units used in home applications often have the motor rotor, pump impeller, and support bearings combined and sealed within the water circuit. This avoids one of the principal challenges faced by the larger, two-part pumps; maintaining a water-tight seal at the point where the pump drive shaft enters the pump body.

Circulation Pumps are small – to medium-sized pumps and are usually supported entirely by the pipe flanges that join them to the rest of the hydronic plumbing. Large pumps are usually frame or pad-mounted. Circulation Pumps are used solely for closed hydronic systems can be made with cast iron components however some are made with bronze or stainless steel components depending on the application.

Features

Circulation Pumps – In-line suction and discharge piping connections. Pump may be equipped with a traditional motor and coupling, or may have a wetted rotor motor that eliminates the seal.

Applications

Circulation Pumps are used in HVAC systems in buildings (chilled water circulation, hot water circulation, potable water circulation). Also circulation of cooling water in plants.

Recommended Media

Circulation Pumps pump water and relatively thin liquids.

Advantages

Circulation Pump In-line design saves on floor space.

Pump Repair Services

Axial Flow Pump Repair

Has a propeller-type of impeller running in a casing. The pressure is developed by the flow of liquid over the blades of impeller.

Booster Pump Repair

Used to boost pressure in a system for applications where normal system pressure is low and needs to be increased.

Circulation Pump Repair

Generally a pump with in-line suction and discharge flanges used to circulate gases, liquids, or slurries in a closed circuit.

Column Pump Repair

Built to assure safe, efficient and reliable operation. Learn more about PumpMan Socal's vertical column pump repair services.

Cutter Chopper Pump Repair

Mainly used when there are a lot of difficult types of material that may clog a standard pump impeller.

Diaphragm Pump Repair Aodd

A type of reciprocating positive displacement pump in which liquid is pumped by a reciprocating diaphragm.

Fire Pump Repair

Centrifugal pumps used for fire fighting in buildings, plants, and other locations. May meet UL/NFPA standards for fire pumps.

Grinder Pump Repair

A type of submersible sewage pump that has cutting teeth incorporated onto the impeller to grind the sewage.

Hvac Pump Repair

Most usually frame mount centrifugal pumps, split case, vertical multistage as well as others.

Multistage Pump Repair

Use multiple impellers with either diffusers or volutes generate more head than single stage (single impeller) pumps.

Self Priming Pump Repair

A specific type of centrifugal pump that can be located above the suction reservoir without an external priming system.

Split Case Pump Repair

Types of centrifugal pumps that have a single or double suction impeller supported between bearings.

Submersible Mixer Repair

Often used in sewage treatment plants to keep solids in suspension in the various process tanks and/or sludge holding tanks.

Submersible Pump Repair

A pump submerged in liquid or fluid. The motor is hermetically sealed and encapsulated in the body of pump casing.

Trash Pump Repair

A self-priming centrifugal or submersible centrifugal pump designed to handle rocks and other solids while dewatering.

Vertical Turbine Pump Repair

Consists of multiple impellers that are staged on a vertical shaft. Designed to bring water in bottom and discharge it out top.

Well Pump Repair

A type of vertical turbine pump designed especially for use in a drilled bore-hole well.
