PumpMan Phoenix provides in Shop Repair, Rewinding, Machining and Testing. We repair most manufactures of motors, pumps, and controls
Motor Rewinds – Rewinding of armature, repairs to rotor, stator and any other components as needed. Our technicians are professionally trained and will run multiple tests on all rewinds to verify the motor is working at or above manufacturers’ standards.
Dip and Bake – After a motor is rewound using new copper windings, a varnish is applied to the motor.
Custom Machining – As needed.
QC Testing:
- Load testing
- Variable speed/frequency run under full load
- Winding Analyzing
- Vibration Analysis
- Thermographic Analysis
- EASA Electrical Tests
Benefits of service or repair by a qualified technician:
- Your pump will be back up and running quickly
- The repair will be done correctly, which will prevent further damage to the motor.
- You will receive a warranty on the repair work
Pump motor service and repair is a specialized field that requires a deep understanding of both pumps and electric motors. Electric motors are the heart of many pumps, and they can fail for a variety of reasons. Some of the most common reasons for pump electric motor failure include:
Overheating – Electric motors can overheat if they are not properly cooled. This can be caused by a number of factors, including clogged filters, dirty bearings, or a lack of airflow.
Bearing failure – The bearings in an electric motor help to keep the motor shaft rotating smoothly. If the bearings fail, the motor shaft can become damaged, which can lead to a complete motor failure.
Short circuit – A short circuit can occur when two wires in an electric motor come into contact with each other. This can cause a sudden surge of current that can damage the motor windings.
Worn windings – The windings in an electric motor are what convert electrical energy into mechanical energy. Over time, the windings can wear out, which can lead to a decrease in motor efficiency and an increase in the risk of failure.
