Many times we have customers that are in need of increased flow due to the output requirement changes. At times this improvement can simply be done from control modifications. On a more involved level Applied Ingenuity can look at the applications and calculate the current state compared to the demand and offer various options to attain proper flows that will meet the customers’ needs. This could include pump or motor modifications or in an extreme case a replacement of one or the both to assure requirements are met.

After Well Screen Cleaning

The Well Efficiency is optimized when the well screen is clean of debris, allowing for maximum flow to well bore.

As part of our cleaning process we have the capabilities to brush and bail any well casing from 4” up to 24” in diameter. By the use of high strength bristled brushes it allows us to remove as much as 90% of mineral or bacterial debris (iron bacteria or slime) that may be on the inside of the well casing or screen. You can physically remove most of this debris prior to any chemical treatment by brushing the screen only for mineral scale or brushing from the static level to the bottom of the well for bacterial debris. Airlifting debris from the very bottom of the well is CRITICAL to well performance. Airlifting debris is a single operation that can be done by utilizing a sand pump. Applications with low static levels may require pumping debris from the well-bottom.

Advantages of Brush and Bail:

• Less chemistry required as the debris on the inside is already removed
• Easier access of chemistry into the formation
• Use poly brushes for PVC or metal casing/screens for slime/iron bacterial problems.

When a brush and bail cleaning techniques are just not enough to properly guarantee the functionality, longevity and flow in a well, we rely on a chemical method by utilizing a liquid descaler product from Cotey Chemical Corporation. This is a chemical process that has been historically effective on well cleaning when used in a safe and environmentally compliant manner.

Why use Liquid Descaler?

• Remove biofilm produced by slime-forming bacteria, such as that produced by iron-oxidizing and sulfate-reducing bacteria.
• Act as an excellent chelating agent (tie up) on iron sulfates and iron chlorides.
• Dissolve carbonate, sulfate, magnesium and iron deposits (mineral deposits).
• Keep dissolved solids in suspension more efficiently than other mineral acids improving well rinse-out.
• Descale shop equipment corroded with iron scale.

At Applied Ingenuity LLC. We make use of Cotey Chemicals’ LIQUID DESCALER.

No better way to really understand what is happening in a well than with utilizing our dual view water well inspection camera. This top of the line Aries system provides a down-hole view and a detailed 360° continuous scan of sidewalls. With a maximum depth of 3500’ and the ability to video 6” up to 48” diameter pipe it is one of the most versatile units on the market. A side view allows an operator to examine wall, casings, infiltration, screen, gravel pack, encrustations, deterioration, perforation blockage or other physical damage via continuous video or snap shot photos. The zoom feature and side and down view tilting feature allows us to maximize the equipment to properly diagnose any issues that will help get your well running at its optimal levels. As a standard, all well videos are recorded for review and DVD’s are made available to all customers.

Sonar Jet is a 50 year old method that utilizes a mild harmonic frequency of shock waves to disintegrate mineral and bacterial deposits in your well at specific depth locations identified by the video system that show the need for cleaning due to excessive build up. This method is proven safe with great results when done on the right applications by a certified technician. Depending on the minerals and bacteria deposits identified in your well, Sonar Jet can be a more cost effective measure in cleaning than traditional methods.

At Applied Ingenuity we are staffed with diverse talent to design your system needs or root-cause any outstanding issues or concerns whether it be on-site field failures or calls to test equipment to support a preventative maintenance schedule/plan.
